HEAT: THE ENEMY TO EVERY HOME

Sweating

Do you know that hot environments could result in heat-related illnesses such as increased respiration rate, heat stroke, fatigue, loss of concentration and dehydration?

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMET) warned that conditions of high heat could result in heat-related illnesses such as increased respiration rate, heat stroke, fatigue, loss of concentration and dehydration. It also warned about incidences of meningitis and malaria escalating. Medical experts have equally warned that high temperatures could worsen the spread and fatality of infectious diseases such as Lassa fever, yellow fever, measles, chicken pox, monkeypox and cholera.

Sweating may lead to a loss of important minerals that your body needs. It causes electrolyte loss of sodium and potassium, says Cindy Daversa, a registered dietitian at St. Jude Medical Center in Fullerton.

opened windows

Getting all doors and windows open when it’s hot especially when there is no stable power supply just to get the house ventilated can be very uncomfortable.

We know you might state that’s the only option available, especially when you stay at a location where there is little or no stable power supply or when you are tired of always turning on your air conditioner because of the high cost.

Worry no more!!!!

Getting your home ventilated and feeling cool has gotten so easy and less expensive. You don’t need to wait for electricity or spend too much on electricity bills to be able to get fresh air in the home.

Going for a Solar fan is the best solution to solve your heat problem and too much spending on the light bill.

They are incredibly portable and lightweight, they can be moved from one location to another, unlike a ceiling fan that is static.

Keeping the fan 2 to 3 feet away will protect you from a concentrated airflow.

An oscillating fan also prevents the flow of air from moving in only one direction.

Research has shown having a fan on during the night lowers the risk of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) in babies.  In one 2008 article published in the Archives of Pediatric Adolescent Medicine Trusted Source, researchers found fan use during sleep was associated with a 72 per cent reduction in SIDS risk.
